Halloween's Mid_Terms are Sooner than you Think!

It's that time again in the Haunt Industry. Actually, in the last few years, the season has lengthened. The season has eclipsed that of the Christmas season, particularly if October has a Friday the 13th. We started this season in late August with the Mortuary's newest event attractions - THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS and The SAW MILL.

Twenty years ago, while the Mortuary Haunted Mansion was being rebuilt, Lord Ravencroft unearthed an impossible artifact… a Colossal Mirror, veined with Black Mercury, framed in a Spiral of Petrified Shell. Its Surface rippled like Living Water, almost as a Creature Breathing. You'd almost swear as if Something were Alive just beyond the Looking Glass as its magnetism took all your willpower to resist.  Cthulhu anyone?

So, cross the threshold and step through the looking glass...take a chance to see what fate awaits you!!! Cue ~ The Creepy-Guy Voice!

The Mortuary presents: “Through the Looking Glass”.

For over 150 years, The Mortuary has been known as The House That Fear Built. A bit full of itself maybe, but get this... it's also a house of endings. A place where spirits cease to exist and stories come to a close. But, wait! Some stories do not end. You don't have to go to Texas for a Chainsaw Massacre? But it doesn't hurt...wanna bet. And that's Mass-a-Cre, btw.

Tasked with developing a hybrid voice for Chain-Saw-Charlie, that's between a Foghorn Leghorn & John Neely Kennedy (Sen,La.), we came up with a creepy Cajun voice that compliments his decayed sinister face. Well then, step inside the Sawmill — that be deep in the Swamp. You can faintly hear the saws. And it ain't Elon Musk. 'Cause those screams are real alright and echoing louder and louder than the machines...

So, to get back to the story at hand...no pun intended with our 'Claw, not Craw' unsettling chap over here. But, thanks to some skilled behavioral vocal adjustments, he now has a sassy voice to match. Picture taking a taxi cab ride through Central Park one stormy Halloween night (ala Home Alone2) and have the cranked-out cabbie turn around to you and utter in Cajun... "ain't much better in here kid"

We sent in a few renditions of JNK and Foghorn with different body's and tails of each voice. In other words JNK's lines for the body mixed with Foghorn lines for lilts and at the end of sentences. Reverse them for greater alternatives. Some amalgams sounded strained. But, like everything it seems these days, in the process we developed a unique-ish standalone voice and persona.
